FAQ

How would you describe the age-appropriateness of your books?

Parents may find the vocabulary and sentence structure overly complex for younger children or early readers. The books are not written specially toward a juvenile age group.

However, in terms of content, I view my books as largely family-friendly. Honesty, simplicity, and sensitivity is my goal when treating with more mature topics. Most of my titles should be suitable for 10—12-year-olds to read on their own, although they vary in intensity and topical scope, and certain future projects may fall more fairly into a narrower age range.

I am aware everyone’s benchmark is on a slightly different level. If you have specific questions about content, you’re welcome to send me a message here.

Can I read an sample of your writing?

You can read the first chapter of The Journey (Ceristen Series 1) here.

Other excerpts and short fiction can be found here.

Does the Ceristen Series follow a continuous plotline?

The Ceristen Series books are connected more by theme and linear timeline than by an overarching plot. However, they are not designed to be read out of order. Each subsequent book builds on characters and details from the preceding stories.

Ceristen Series book 1 focuses on a single family. Book 2 expands outward to paint a story of the broader community, while book 3 takes familiar characters on a journey in unfamiliar settings. Book 4, the series climax, concludes some unresolved tension from book 3, and wraps up the arcs of various key characters.

Where can I purchase the Ceristen Series?

The Ceristen Series is re-launching as second editions. The Journey, book 1, released in July of 2024 and is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble as well as other major ebook retailers. Signed copies are available through my website under the “Shop” tab.

Remaining series installments will continue to release between 2024-2025.
